About Permanent TSB statements
PTSB (Permanent TSB) is a Dublin-based retail bank offering current accounts, savings and mortgages.
PTSB eStatements open with a transaction summary: opening balance, total credits, total debits and closing balance. Each transaction is then listed with its date, description and amount, with withdrawals shown as negative figures and lodgements as positive ones. Statements of Fees are filed in the same eStatements area, and PTSB says eStatements are now part of its Digital Correspondence section.
Typical Ireland statement headings and where they go in your export:
| On the statement | In your export |
|---|---|
| Date | Date |
| Details | Description |
| Debit | Debit (and negative Amount) |
| Credit | Credit (and positive Amount) |
| Payments - out | Debit (and negative Amount) |
| Payments - in | Credit (and positive Amount) |
Also known as PTSB Bank and Permanent TSB Bank.
How to download your PTSB statement as a PDF
- In the PTSB app, open eStatements and choose the account.
- Tap the download icon beside the statement to view or save the PDF.
- On Open24, open the account's dropdown and choose 'View more transactions'.
- Select the 'Statements' tab, then 'View eStatements', and enter the security code.
PTSB says eStatements dated after March 2021 can be viewed for up to seven years from issue, while older statements had shorter limits. Access ends when the account is closed.
Menu names can change between app and website versions.
PTSB CSV and Excel downloads vs converting the PDF
PTSB's help pages focus on PDF eStatements rather than spreadsheet exports. Because access ends when an account closes, PTSB advises saving copies, and converting those PDFs is how you get the history into Excel or accounting software later.
Converting the PDF statement is useful when you need periods outside that window, an account that is closed, or the exact figures printed on the official statement, including the running balance for reconciliation.
Tips for converting PTSB statements
- PTSB shows debits as negative amounts in a single column. The converter keeps the signed Amount; if your software expects the reverse, use Flip signs before exporting.
- Compare the converted totals with the total credits and total debits in the statement summary to confirm nothing was missed.
- Access to eStatements ends when the account closes, so download them beforehand; the converter can turn the saved PDFs into Excel at any later date.
Importing PTSB transactions into accounting software
For Xero, Sage, QuickBooks and Big Red Cloud, export CSV or OFX after checking the preview. Amounts are written as plain numbers without the € sign, so they import cleanly as values. Step-by-step help: Xero, QuickBooks.

Frequently asked questions
How do I view PTSB eStatements on Open24?
From the accounts overview, open the account's dropdown and choose 'View more transactions', then the 'Statements' tab and 'View eStatements'. PTSB sends a code by push notification or SMS; enter it and the statement opens as a PDF in a new browser tab.
What happens to my PTSB eStatements when I close my account?
You lose access once the account is closed, so PTSB recommends downloading your eStatements and Statements of Fees to a password-protected personal device beforehand. Saved PDFs can be converted to Excel or CSV whenever you need the figures later.
Is it safe to convert my PTSB statement here?
Yes. The conversion happens on your own device; your PTSB statement is not uploaded, stored or shared. This site is independent and not affiliated with Permanent TSB.
