About Wise statements
Wise, formerly TransferWise, is a London-based company offering international money transfers and multi-currency accounts that hold and convert many currencies.
A Wise statement covers the currency balances or jars you select, for a period of up to 365 days, in a language you choose. Each currency is reported in its own amounts, and a conversion between two currencies affects both balances, so it appears on each statement. Accounting statements can show fees separately, and you can request a stamped and signed version.
Typical International statement headings and where they go in your export:
| On the statement | In your export |
|---|---|
| Date | Date |
| Description | Description |
| Currency | Description |
| Gross | Description |
| Fee | Description |
| Net | Description |
Also known as TransferWise, Wise Business and Wise account.

Wise CSV and Excel downloads vs converting the PDF
Wise exports statements itself: the web offers PDF, XLSX, CSV, MT940, QIF and CAMT.053, and the app PDF, CSV and XLSX. Each statement spans at most 365 days, and activity paid through external payment methods appears only in the separate transfer list.
Converting the PDF statement is useful when you need periods outside that window, an account that is closed, or the exact figures printed on the official statement, including the running balance for reconciliation.
Tips for converting Wise statements
- Convert each currency statement separately, because mixing balances in one sheet would add together amounts in different currencies.
- A conversion shows up on two currency statements, once leaving one balance and once entering another, so do not treat the pair as duplicates when reconciling.
- Statements created in another language may order dates differently; set 'Read dates as' to match before exporting to Excel or OFX.
