About The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation statements

HSBC in Hong Kong operates through The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, one of the city's three note-issuing banks.

HSBC Hong Kong keeps eStatements for Integrated, HKD current and HKD savings accounts for 84 months, while investment and securities statements are kept for 24 months. In online banking, documents are filtered by category, account and document type, then sorted by year and date. An Integrated Account statement can bring several sub-accounts together, each with its own transaction section.

Tips for converting HSBC HK statements

    • If your HSBC statement prints headings in Chinese as well as English, the converter recognises common Chinese headings when mapping Date, Debit, Credit and Balance.
    • An Integrated Account statement can include foreign currency sections; check that those rows are not mixed into your HKD totals before exporting to Excel or OFX.

Importing HSBC HK transactions into accounting software

For Xero, QuickBooks and Zoho Books, export CSV or OFX after checking the preview. Amounts are written as plain numbers without the HK$ sign, so they import cleanly as values. Step-by-step help: Xero, QuickBooks.
