About Standard Bank statements
Standard Bank is a Johannesburg-headquartered bank and the main South African subsidiary of Standard Bank Group.
In the Standard Bank app, statements sit under Your documents: a 6-month statement you can download or email, and monthly statements under Previous statements. Statements show dated transactions with descriptions, amounts and a running balance in rand. Emailed statements have historically arrived as encrypted attachments opened with a password you set in Online Banking.

| Date | Date |
| Description | Description |
| Money In | Credit (and positive Amount) |
| Money Out | Debit (and negative Amount) |
| Fees | Description |
| Amount | Amount (signed), split into Debit / Credit |

Standard Bank statement PDF password
Standard Bank's community help has described emailed statements as encrypted attachments opened with a password you create yourself in Online Banking (Statements > Email Statements), not a fixed format. Statements downloaded from the Banking App are the simplest PDFs to convert.
Type the password into the converter when it asks. It is used only inside your browser to open the file and is never sent anywhere.
Tips for converting Standard Bank statements
- Prefer the PDF downloaded from the app's Your documents section; older emailed statements came in an encrypted format that must be decoded before any converter can read it.
- The 6-month statement covers half a year in one PDF. Use the balance check to confirm every row reconciles before importing into accounting software.
Importing Standard Bank transactions into accounting software
For Sage Pastel, Xero and QuickBooks, export CSV or OFX after checking the preview. Amounts are written as plain numbers without the R sign, so they import cleanly as values. Step-by-step help: Xero, QuickBooks.
