About HDFC Bank statements
HDFC Bank is a private sector bank headquartered in Mumbai that merged with its former parent, the mortgage lender HDFC Ltd, in 2023.
HDFC Bank statements put the account holder, branch, customer ID and statement period at the top, then a transaction table with separate withdrawal and deposit columns and a closing balance on every line. A value-date column sits between the reference number and the amounts. A summary block at the end shows the opening balance, the number of debits and credits, their totals and the closing balance.

Menu names can change between app and website versions.
HDFC Bank statement PDF password
HDFC Bank says PDF account statements are protected with your numeric Customer ID (CustID). Enter the Customer ID, not the account number; the password note also appears on the download page and in the confirmation message.
Type the password into the converter when it asks. It is used only inside your browser to open the file and is never sent anywhere.
HDFC Bank CSV and Excel downloads vs converting the PDF
HDFC NetBanking offers account statements in five download formats: PDF, Excel, Text, Delimited and MS Money. Statements sent by email come only as PDF, so conversion helps when all you have are emailed copies or PDFs shared by someone else.
Converting the PDF statement is useful when you need periods outside that window, an account that is closed, or the exact figures printed on the official statement, including the running balance for reconciliation.
Tips for converting HDFC Bank statements
- HDFC PDFs are locked with your Customer ID. Enter it in the password box; the file is unlocked on your device and never sent anywhere.
- The Value Dt column is ignored automatically and Chq./Ref.No. entries move into the Reference column, leaving clean Date, Description, Debit, Credit and Balance fields.
- Run the balance check against the Closing Balance column. Highlighted rows show where a line may have been misread, often around page breaks.
Importing HDFC Bank transactions into accounting software
For TallyPrime, Zoho Books and Busy, export CSV or OFX after checking the preview. Amounts are written as plain numbers without the ₹ sign, so they import cleanly as values.

Frequently asked questions
What is the password for an HDFC Bank statement PDF?
According to HDFC Bank's NetBanking FAQ, the password for a PDF account statement is your Customer ID. A frequent mistake is typing the account number instead. The password note appears when you choose PDF as the download format and again in the success message after the download.
Can I download an HDFC statement in Excel?
Yes. NetBanking lists Excel among its download formats along with PDF, Text, Delimited and MS Money. Emailed statements are PDF only, so if your only copy came by email, or someone shared a PDF with you, the converter can turn it into .xlsx, CSV or OFX.
Why does my HDFC statement show two dates?
The first column is the transaction date, while Value Dt is the date the bank applied the entry for balance and interest purposes. The two usually match. The converter keeps the transaction date and drops the value date, so your spreadsheet ends up with a single Date column.
Is it safe to convert my HDFC Bank statement here?
Yes. The conversion happens on your own device; your HDFC Bank statement is not uploaded, stored or shared. This site is independent and not affiliated with HDFC Bank.
