About Westpac New Zealand statements
Westpac New Zealand is the New Zealand banking subsidiary of Australia's Westpac Group.
Westpac NZ statements are downloaded from Westpac One online banking or the app for transaction, savings, credit card and home loan accounts, and Westpac says it keeps electronic copies for at least seven years. Statements list transactions with a running balance in New Zealand dollars and day-first dates. Transactions can also be exported from online banking on a computer, which Westpac has described as not available in the app.

Westpac NZ CSV and Excel downloads vs converting the PDF
Westpac One can export an account’s transactions from online banking on a computer, with format choices shown during export. For years further back, the PDF statements Westpac keeps for at least seven years are the fuller record.
Converting the PDF statement is useful when you need periods outside that window, an account that is closed, or the exact figures printed on the official statement, including the running balance for reconciliation.
Tips for converting Westpac NZ statements
- Westpac NZ uses day-first dates; if a short statement leaves days and months ambiguous, set Read dates as to day-first before exporting to CSV.
- Credit card and home loan statements from Westpac One convert too; check the sign mapping and use Flip signs if repayments show up as debits.
