About Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce statements
CIBC (Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce) is headquartered in Toronto and also operates the direct banking brand Simplii Financial.
CIBC account statements start with an Account summary listing the opening balance, withdrawals, deposits and closing balance. The Transaction details table follows, beginning with an Opening balance row and ending with a Closing balance row. Dates such as Apr 3 appear only on a day's first transaction, and longer entries, such as pre-authorized debits, often wrap onto a second line that names the payee.

- Sign on to CIBC Online Banking.
- On the My Accounts page, select View eStatements in the left side bar.

CIBC says up to 7 years of bank account and credit card eStatements can be viewed online and in the app.
Menu names can change between app and website versions.
CIBC CSV and Excel downloads vs converting the PDF
CIBC Online Banking has a Download Transactions option where you choose the account, a time period and your financial software. CIBC does not publish a maximum range for personal accounts, so older periods are easier to get from the eStatement PDFs.
Converting the PDF statement is useful when you need periods outside that window, an account that is closed, or the exact figures printed on the official statement, including the running balance for reconciliation.
Tips for converting CIBC statements
- Payee names on CIBC statements often sit on a second line under PREAUTHORIZED DEBIT or similar; the converter joins those lines so the payee stays in the description.
- CIBC prints a balance after each transaction, so the balance check should reconcile line by line; any highlighted row deserves a quick look.
Importing CIBC transactions into accounting software
For QuickBooks, Xero, Sage 50 and Wave, export CSV or OFX after checking the preview. Amounts are written as plain numbers without the $ sign, so they import cleanly as values. Step-by-step help: QuickBooks, Xero.
