About Australia and New Zealand Banking Group statements
ANZ (Australia and New Zealand Banking Group) is headquartered in Melbourne and offers everyday accounts, credit cards and business banking, including the ANZ Plus digital account.
ANZ keeps statements and notices on separate tabs in Internet Banking, chosen from a drop-down for each account, and opens each statement as a PDF in a new window. Statements run from an opening balance to a closing balance with a running balance beside each transaction. Between statements, ANZ can produce a transaction report for the last 30, 60, 90 or 120 days, which is a shorter summary rather than a replacement for the statement.
Typical Australia statement headings and where they go in your export:
| On the statement | In your export |
|---|---|
| Date | Date |
| Transaction Details | Description |
| Debit | Debit (and negative Amount) |
| Credit | Credit (and positive Amount) |
| Withdrawals | Debit (and negative Amount) |
| Deposits | Credit (and positive Amount) |
Also known as ANZ Bank, ANZ Australia and ANZ Plus.

ANZ CSV and Excel downloads vs converting the PDF
Internet Banking can download transactions for open accounts covering the last two years, using a Software package option to pick the file type. Transaction reports only reach back 120 days, so older periods and closed accounts depend on PDF statements.
Converting the PDF statement is useful when you need periods outside that window, an account that is closed, or the exact figures printed on the official statement, including the running balance for reconciliation.
Tips for converting ANZ statements
- Add several ANZ statements for the same account at once; the converter combines them in order so a full financial year can be exported as one OFX file.
- If ANZ amounts import in the wrong direction for your accounting software, use Flip signs once rather than editing rows, then re-run the balance check.
- When ANZ statements print dates without a year, the converter completes them from the statement period, including periods that run from December into January.
Importing ANZ transactions into accounting software
For Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks and Reckon, export CSV or OFX after checking the preview. Amounts are written as plain numbers without the $ sign, so they import cleanly as values. Step-by-step help: Xero, QuickBooks.
