About Lloyds Bank statements
Lloyds Bank is part of Lloyds Banking Group, which also includes Halifax and Bank of Scotland, and offers current accounts, savings, mortgages and credit cards.
Lloyds statements open with the account details, the statement period, totals for money in and money out, and the balances on the first and last day of the period. The 'Your Transactions' table has Date, Description, Type, Money In (£), Money Out (£) and Balance (£), with dates written like 01 Jul 25. The Type column holds short codes such as DEB, DD, FPO and BGC, which a key on the statement explains.

How to download your Lloyds statement as a PDF
- In the Lloyds app, open the account and go to its statements.
- Choose the month and year, then download the PDF to your device.
- In Internet Banking, open the account and select 'View statement'.
- Look under 'Statement options' to choose a statement and save it as a PDF.
Lloyds says Internet Banking holds statements up to 7 years old, while the app goes back at least 10 years. For a closed account, copy statements can be requested during the five years after closure.
Menu names can change between app and website versions.
Lloyds CSV and Excel downloads vs converting the PDF
Statements are PDF files. Internet Banking also offers a midata file with 12 months of transactions (under 'More actions', then 'Account services'), and the desktop site may offer a transaction export, but neither replaces a statement for older months.
Converting the PDF statement is useful when you need periods outside that window, an account that is closed, or the exact figures printed on the official statement, including the running balance for reconciliation.
Tips for converting Lloyds statements
- Money In comes before Money Out on Lloyds statements, the reverse of several other UK banks. The converter maps columns by their headings, so credits and debits still land correctly.
- Type codes such as DEB, DD, FPO and BGC go into the Reference column, which makes it easy to filter card spending or Faster Payments in Excel.
- Because the app reaches back further than Internet Banking, download older PDFs there and combine several years into one CSV or Excel file.
Importing Lloyds transactions into accounting software
For Xero, QuickBooks, Sage and FreeAgent, export CSV or OFX after checking the preview. Amounts are written as plain numbers without the £ sign, so they import cleanly as values. Step-by-step help: Xero, QuickBooks.

Frequently asked questions
How do I download a Lloyds bank statement?
In the app, open the account, go to statements and choose the month and year; the PDF can then be saved, printed or emailed. In Internet Banking, open the account and use 'View statement'. Lloyds can also post a paper statement, which it says arrives within 10 working days.
What do DEB, FPO and BGC mean on a Lloyds statement?
They are transaction type codes printed in the Type column and explained in a key on the statement. DEB is a debit card payment, DD a Direct Debit, FPO a Faster Payment out and BGC a Bank Giro Credit. The converter keeps them in a Reference column.
How many years of Lloyds statements can I download?
Lloyds says Internet Banking gives access to statements up to seven years old and the app at least ten years. If you have closed the account, Lloyds can provide copy statements for five years afterwards. Once downloaded, several years of PDFs can be converted and combined in one go.
Is it safe to convert my Lloyds statement here?
