About Santander UK statements
Santander UK is the British arm of Spain's Banco Santander group, offering current accounts, savings, mortgages and credit cards.
Santander current account statements cover one month, counted from the date the account was opened or switched, while savings statements usually cover a year. Each statement shows the account name, applicable interest rates, balance, transactions, interest credited and any fees and charges. Electronic statements carry no watermark and match the posted version, so a downloaded PDF can be used wherever a paper copy would be.

How to download your Santander statement as a PDF
- In the Santander app, tap 'Mailbox' at the top right.
- Choose 'Statements and documents' and open the statement you need.
- Tap the download icon in the top-right corner to save the PDF.
- In Online Banking, click 'Statements and documents' and select the document.
Paper-free customers can see account activity from the last seven years. For a closed current account, transaction history can be requested for up to five years after closure.
Menu names can change between app and website versions.
Santander CSV and Excel downloads vs converting the PDF
Online Banking can download transactions as Microsoft Excel, Quicken, Microsoft Money or PDF files, choosing 'All available transactions' or 'Since last download'. Each download is capped at 600 transactions, so busy accounts need several shorter date ranges.
Converting the PDF statement is useful when you need periods outside that window, an account that is closed, or the exact figures printed on the official statement, including the running balance for reconciliation.
Tips for converting Santander statements
- Santander statement periods follow your account opening date rather than the calendar month, so note the period dates when combining several statements into one spreadsheet.
- If the 600-transaction download cap gets in the way, convert the monthly PDF statements and merge them in the converter into one continuous Excel or CSV file.
Importing Santander transactions into accounting software
For Xero, QuickBooks, Sage and FreeAgent, export CSV or OFX after checking the preview. Amounts are written as plain numbers without the £ sign, so they import cleanly as values. Step-by-step help: Xero, QuickBooks.

Frequently asked questions
How do I get a Santander bank statement in the app?
Log on to the Santander app, tap 'Mailbox' in the top-right corner and choose 'Statements and documents'. Open the statement and tap the download icon to save or print the PDF. Without a printer, you can ask for a posted copy by typing 'order statement' in Chat.
Can I download Santander transactions to Excel?
Yes. Online Banking's transaction download offers Microsoft Excel, Quicken, Microsoft Money and PDF, up to 600 transactions per download. For periods you can no longer download, or a sheet that mirrors a statement exactly, convert the PDF statement with the converter instead.
Is a downloaded Santander e-statement the same as a paper one?
Santander says its electronic statements have no watermark and are identical to the versions it posts. Whether a landlord, lender or other organisation accepts a PDF is their decision, so check with them. Converting a copy to Excel for your own use leaves the original PDF unchanged.
Is it safe to convert my Santander statement here?
Yes. The conversion happens on your own device; your Santander statement is not uploaded, stored or shared. This site is independent and not affiliated with Santander UK.
