About Bank of America statements
Bank of America is headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, and offers checking, savings and credit card accounts, with investment accounts provided through Merrill.
Bank of America checking statements open with an Account summary: beginning balance, deposits and other additions, withdrawals and other subtractions, checks, service fees and ending balance. The detail pages repeat those groups as separate sections, each listing date, description and amount and ending in a total. Some newer statements say credits and debits instead of additions and subtractions. Individual lines carry no running balance; a daily ledger balance table usually appears near the end.

Bank of America CSV and Excel downloads vs converting the PDF
Online Banking has a download option on account activity for use with money-management software, and Bank of America says credit card customers can pull up to 12 months of detailed transactions. Activity beyond those windows has to come from the PDF statements.
Converting the PDF statement is useful when you need periods outside that window, an account that is closed, or the exact figures printed on the official statement, including the running balance for reconciliation.
Tips for converting Bank of America statements
- Deposits and withdrawals sit in separate sections on Bank of America statements, and the converter signs each section correctly; compare the converted totals with each section total line.
- Ordered copies of older statements expire after 7 days, so save them right away and convert the whole year together, as one Excel file or one sheet per month.
- Check numbers from the Checks section go into the Reference column, which makes matching cleared checks against your register quicker.

Frequently asked questions
How do I get Bank of America statements older than 18 months?
In Online Banking, open Statements & Documents and choose Request statements. Bank of America lets you order electronic copies going back up to seven years at no charge. They usually arrive within 24 to 36 hours and remain downloadable for seven days, so save each PDF once it appears. Paper copies can be ordered too and are mailed.
Why doesn't my Bank of America statement show a running balance?
Bank of America lists transactions by category rather than as a single ledger, so individual lines have no balance beside them; any daily balances are printed in a separate table. The converter collects the rows from every section into one table with correct signs, and you can check the result against the beginning and ending balances in the Account summary.
Is it safe to convert my Bank of America statement here?
