About Citibank statements
Citibank is the banking subsidiary of Citigroup, based in New York City. It offers checking and savings accounts and credit cards such as Citi Double Cash.
Citi credit card statements begin with an account summary and payment information, then list activity in blocks such as Payments, Credits and Adjustments and Standard Purchases. Each line shows a transaction date, a post date, a description and an amount, with payments and credits printed as negative figures. Fees and interest charged appear in their own sections towards the end, ahead of the interest charge calculation.

How to download your Citi statement as a PDF
- Sign on to Citi Online and open the account.
- Select the Statements link on the account details page.
- Pick the statement date and download the PDF.
- For earlier periods, submit an Older Statements request and download it once ready.
For bank accounts, Citi says about 24 months of statements are available immediately; older archived statements can be requested and are usually ready within a day or two.
Menu names can change between app and website versions.
Citi CSV and Excel downloads vs converting the PDF
Citi Online has an Export option above the transaction list for saving activity to a spreadsheet or finance software, filtered by statement period or date range. It is built around recent statements, so PDFs remain the way to capture earlier years.
Converting the PDF statement is useful when you need periods outside that window, an account that is closed, or the exact figures printed on the official statement, including the running balance for reconciliation.
Tips for converting Citi statements
- Citi lists both a transaction date and a post date; the converter keeps the first and ignores the posting column, so dates reflect when purchases were made.
- Card statements are detected automatically, so purchases become money out and payments money in. Compare the converted sums with the purchases and payments totals in the account summary.
- Request older statements in batches, save each PDF promptly, then load them together and export a single combined file for the year.
