About PNC Bank statements
PNC Bank is headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and offers the Virtual Wallet checking product alongside savings, credit cards and business banking.
PNC checking statements, including Virtual Wallet, begin with a Balance Summary and then an Activity Detail section. Activity is grouped into blocks such as Deposits and Other Additions, debit card purchases, online and electronic deductions, Other Deductions, and checks, each with a count and total. Within a block the amount usually comes before the description, and some lines add a reference number. A Daily Balance Detail table closes the statement.

PNC CSV and Excel downloads vs converting the PDF
PNC Online Banking can export account activity to Quicken, QuickBooks, Microsoft Money or Excel. PNC documents the credit card window as 13 months of transactions, so statements are the only source for activity older than that.
Converting the PDF statement is useful when you need periods outside that window, an account that is closed, or the exact figures printed on the official statement, including the running balance for reconciliation.
Tips for converting PNC statements
- PNC places the amount ahead of the description. The converter maps columns by their headings, but spot-check a few rows from each block after converting.
- Deductions and additions come from separate blocks, and the converter assigns signs by block. Check the converted totals against each block's printed total.
- Reference numbers printed with PNC transactions are moved to the Reference column, which helps when matching ACH items to invoices.
Importing PNC transactions into accounting software
For QuickBooks, Xero, Quicken and Wave, export CSV or OFX after checking the preview. Amounts are written as plain numbers without the $ sign, so they import cleanly as values. Step-by-step help: QuickBooks, Xero.
